About the Artist

Lona is a contemporary landscape painter and needle felter whose work is shaped by the colours, textures, and quiet rhythms of the natural world. Working primarily in acrylics and wool fibre, she creates layered paintings and tactile felted pieces that balance observation with feeling, inviting stillness, reflection, and connection.

Her process often begins with a remembered view, a particular quality of light, or the feeling of being immersed in a landscape. In her paintings, layers of colour and expressive marks build depth and atmosphere, allowing each scene to take on its own character. In her needle-felted work, texture becomes central, with wool fibres shaped and layered to suggest natural forms, soft movement, and the subtle details found in the land.

Across both mediums, Lona is drawn to the way landscape can hold mood, memory, and emotion. From her studio, she continues to explore how colour, texture, and form can translate moments in nature into works that feel grounded, personal, and quietly expressive.

Paintings and needle-felted pieces may be picked up locally in Kamloops, or shipped by arrangement. Shipping costs vary depending on the size, framing, and packaging needs of each piece, with extra care required for works framed with non-glare glass.
